¹⁶ And it will be like a sign on your hand and a symbol on your forehead^(A) that the Lord brought us out of Egypt with his mighty hand.”

⁹ This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand^(A) and a reminder on your forehead^(B) that this law of the Lord is to be on your lips. For the Lord brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand.^(C)

¹⁸ Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.^(A)

⁷ Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.^{(A) 8} Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.^{(B) 9} Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.^(C)

¹⁴ “In days to come, when your son^(A) asks you, ‘What does this mean?’ say to him, ‘With a mighty hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.^(B)

⁵ “Everything they do is done for people to see:^(A) They make their phylacteries^[a](B) wide and the tassels on their garments^(C) long;

⁸ So the Lord brought us out of Egypt^(A) with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm,^(B) with great terror and with signs and wonders.^(C)

¹³ The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over^(A) you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.^(B)
