⁵ Your lamb shall be ^(A)without blemish, a male a year old. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats,

¹⁸ knowing that you ^(A)were ransomed from ^(B)the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, ¹⁹ but ^(C)with the precious blood of Christ, like that of ^(D)a lamb ^(E)without blemish or spot.

¹³ For if ^(A)the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with ^(B)the ashes of a heifer, sanctify^[a] for the purification of the flesh, ¹⁴ how much more will ^(C)the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit ^(D)offered himself without blemish to God, ^(E)purify our^[b] conscience ^(F)from dead works ^(G)to serve the living God.

¹⁴ Cursed be the cheat who has ^(A)a male in his flock, and ^(B)vows it, and yet sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished. For ^(C)I am a great King, says the Lord of hosts, and my name ^(D)will be feared among the nations.

17 ^(A)“You shall not sacrifice to the Lord your God an ox or a sheep in which is a blemish, any defect whatever, for that is an abomination to the Lord your God.

²⁶ For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, ^(A)holy, innocent, unstained, ^(B)separated from sinners, and ^(C)exalted above the heavens.

^7 (A)By offering polluted food upon my altar. ^(B)But you say, ‘How have we polluted you?’ By saying that ^(C)the Lord's table may be despised. ^8 (D)When you offer blind animals in sacrifice, is that not evil? And when you offer those that are lame or sick, is that not evil? Present that to your governor; will he accept you or show you favor? says the Lord of hosts.

¹² And on the day when you ^(A)wave the sheaf, you shall offer a ^(B)male lamb a year old without blemish as a burnt offering to the Lord.
