⁵ Your lamb shall be ^(A)without^[a] blemish, a male ^[b]of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats.

¹⁸ knowing that you were not redeemed with ^[a]corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, ¹⁹ but ^(A)with the precious blood of Christ, ^(B)as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

¹³ For if ^(A)the blood of bulls and goats and ^(B)the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, ^[a]sanctifies for the ^[b]purifying of the flesh, ¹⁴ how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without ^[c]spot to God, ^(C)cleanse your conscience from ^(D)dead works ^(E)to serve the living God?

²⁶ For such a High Priest was fitting for us, ^(A)who is holy, ^[a]harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, ^(B)and has become higher than the heavens;

17 “You ^(A)shall not sacrifice to the Lord your God a bull or sheep which has any ^[a]blemish or defect, for that is an ^[b]abomination to the Lord your God.

¹² And you shall offer on that day, when you wave the sheaf, a male lamb of the first year, without blemish, as a burnt offering to the Lord.

¹⁸ “Speak to Aaron and his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them: ^(A)‘Whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, who ^[a]offers his sacrifice for any of his vows or for any of his freewill offerings, which they offer to the Lord as a burnt offering— ^19 (B)you shall offer of your own free will a male without blemish from the cattle, from the sheep, or from the goats. ^20 (C)Whatever has a defect, you shall not offer, for it shall not be acceptable on your behalf. ²¹ And ^(D)whoever offers a sacrifice of a peace offering to the Lord, ^(E)to fulfill his vow, or a freewill offering from the cattle or the sheep, it must be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no defect in it. ^22 (F)Those that are blind or broken or maimed, or have an ^[b]ulcer or eczema or scabs, you shall not offer to the Lord, nor make ^(G)an offering by fire of them on the altar to the Lord. ²³ Either a bull or a lamb that has any limb ^(H)too long or too short you may offer as a freewill offering, but for a vow it shall not be accepted.

²⁴ ‘You shall not offer to the Lord what is bruised or crushed, or torn or cut; nor shall you make any offering of them in your land.

¹⁰ ‘If his offering is of the flocks—of the sheep or of the goats—as a burnt sacrifice, he shall bring a male ^(A)without blemish.
