³⁵ The Israelites had acted according to the word of Moses; they had asked the Egyptians for jewelry of silver and gold and for clothing,^(A)

²¹ I will bring this people into such favor with the Egyptians that, when you go, you will not go empty-handed;^{(A) 22} each woman shall ask her neighbor and any woman living in the neighbor’s house for jewelry of silver and of gold and clothing, and you shall put them on your sons and on your daughters; so you shall plunder the Egyptians.”^(B)

² Tell the people that every man is to ask his neighbor and every woman is to ask her neighbor for objects of silver and gold.”^{(A) 3} The Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, Moses himself was a man of great importance in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s officials and in the sight of the people.^(B)

¹⁴ but I will bring judgment on the nation that they serve, and afterward they shall come out with great possessions.^(A)
