²⁵ When you enter the land^(A) that the Lord will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony.

¹⁷ And I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt^(A) into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey.’^(B)

⁸ So I have come down^(A) to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land,^(B) a land flowing with milk and honey^(C)—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites^(D) and Jebusites.^(E)

⁸ You are not to do as we do here today, everyone doing as they see fit,^{(A) 9} since you have not yet reached the resting place^(B) and the inheritance^(C) the Lord your God is giving you.

⁵ See, I have taught^(A) you decrees and laws^(B) as the Lord my God commanded^(C) me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering^(D) to take possession of it.

¹⁰ On the evening of the fourteenth day of the month,^(A) while camped at Gilgal on the plains of Jericho, the Israelites celebrated the Passover.^{(B) 11} The day after the Passover, that very day, they ate some of the produce of the land:^(C) unleavened bread^(D) and roasted grain.^{(E) 12} The manna stopped the day after^[a] they ate this food from the land; there was no longer any manna for the Israelites, but that year they ate the produce of Canaan.^(F)

⁵ You must not sacrifice the Passover in any town the Lord your God gives you ⁶ except in the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name. There you must sacrifice the Passover in the evening, when the sun goes down, on the anniversary^[a](A) of your departure from Egypt. ⁷ Roast^(B) it and eat it at the place the Lord your God will choose. Then in the morning return to your tents. ⁸ For six days eat unleavened bread and on the seventh day hold an assembly^(C) to the Lord your God and do no work.^(D)

⁹ Count off seven weeks^(F) from the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain.^(G)
