³³ Then Moses left Pharaoh and went out of the city. He spread out his hands toward the Lord; the thunder and hail stopped, and the rain no longer poured down on the land.

²⁹ Moses replied, “When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands^(A) in prayer to the Lord. The thunder will stop and there will be no more hail, so you may know that the earth^(B) is the Lord’s.

¹² After Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh, Moses cried out to the Lord about the frogs he had brought on Pharaoh.

¹⁷ Elijah was a human being, even as we are.^(A) He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.^{(B) 18} Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.^(C)

¹⁸ Moses then left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord.^{(A) 19} And the Lord changed the wind to a very strong west wind, which caught up the locusts and carried them into the Red Sea.^[a] Not a locust was left anywhere in Egypt.
