15 Before he had finished praying,(E) Rebekah(F) came out with her jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of Bethuel(G) son of Milkah,(H) who was the wife of Abraham’s brother Nahor.(I) 16 The woman was very beautiful,(J) a virgin;(K) no man had ever slept with her. She went down to the spring, filled her jar and came up again.

17 The servant hurried to meet her and said, “Please give me a little water from your jar.”(L)

18 “Drink,(M) my lord,” she said, and quickly lowered the jar to her hands and gave him a drink.

19 After she had given him a drink, she said, “I’ll draw water for your camels(N) too,(O) until they have had enough to drink.” 20 So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough, ran back to the well to draw more water, and drew enough for all his camels.(P)

Then Jacob asked them, “Is he well?”

“Yes, he is,” they said, “and here comes his daughter Rachel(A) with the sheep.(B)

“Look,” he said, “the sun is still high; it is not time for the flocks to be gathered. Water the sheep and take them back to pasture.”

“We can’t,” they replied, “until all the flocks are gathered and the stone(C) has been rolled away from the mouth of the well. Then we will water(D) the sheep.”

While he was still talking with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep,(E) for she was a shepherd. 10 When Jacob saw Rachel(F) daughter of his uncle Laban, and Laban’s sheep, he went over and rolled the stone(G) away from the mouth of the well and watered(H) his uncle’s sheep.(I)
