⁷ and in the morning ^[a]you will see ^(A)the glory of the Lord, for ^(B)He hears your grumblings against the Lord; and ^(C)what are we, that you grumble against us?”

The Lord Provides Meat

⁸ And Moses said, “This will happen when the Lord gives you meat to eat in the evening, and bread to the full in the morning; for the Lord hears your grumblings which you grumble against Him. And what are we? Your grumblings are ^(D)not against us but against the Lord.”

⁹ Then Moses said to Aaron, “Say to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, ‘^(E)Come forward before the Lord, for He has heard your grumblings.’” ¹⁰ And it came about, as Aaron spoke to the entire congregation of the sons of Israel, that they ^[b]looked toward the wilderness, and behold, ^(F)the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud.

^16 (A)The glory of the Lord ^[a]settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days; and on the seventh day He ^(B)called to Moses from the midst of the cloud. ^17 (C)And to the eyes of the sons of Israel, the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a ^(D)consuming fire on the mountain top.

^18 (A)Then Moses said, “Please, show me Your glory!” ¹⁹ And He said, “^(B)I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the Lord before you; and ^(C)I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion to whom I will show compassion.” ²⁰ He further said, “You cannot see My face, ^(D)for mankind shall not see Me and live!” ²¹ Then the Lord said, “Behold, there is a place ^[a]by Me, and ^(E)you shall stand there on the rock; ²² and it will come about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and ^(F)cover you with My hand until I have passed by.

The Glory of the Lord

^34 (A)Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the ^(B)glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. ³⁵ And Moses ^(C)was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

²³ And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting. When they came out and blessed the people, ^(A)the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people.
