⁷ Then they are to take some of the blood^(A) and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.

²² Take a bunch of hyssop,^(A) dip it into the blood in the basin and put some of the blood^(B) on the top and on both sides of the doorframe. None of you shall go out of the door of your house until morning. ²³ When the Lord goes through the land to strike^(C) down the Egyptians, he will see the blood^(D) on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over^(E) that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer^(F) to enter your houses and strike you down.

²⁸ By faith he kept the Passover and the application of blood, so that the destroyer^(A) of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.^(B)

²² In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood,^(A) and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.^(B)

⁷ In him we have redemption^(A) through his blood,^(B) the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches^(C) of God’s grace
