Esther 4:14-16

¹⁴For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

¹⁵Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer,

¹⁶Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

¹⁴For if you remain silent^(A) at this time, relief^(B) and deliverance^(C) for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”^(D)

¹⁵Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: ¹⁶“Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast^(E) for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”^(F)

¹⁴Sapagkat kahit na manahimik ka sa panahong ito, may ibang tutulong at magliligtas sa mga Judio, pero ikaw at ang mga kamag-anak mo ay mamamatay. Baka nga kaya ka ginawang reyna ay para mailigtas mo ang kapwa mo mga Judio.”

¹⁵Ito naman ang ipinasabi ni Ester kay Mordecai, ¹⁶“Humayo ka, tipunin mo ang lahat ng Judio na nandito sa Susa at mag-ayuno kayo para sa akin. Huwag kayong kumain o uminom sa loob ng tatlong araw.
