Mordecai Is Honored by the King

10 King Ahasuerus put a tax on the people of the nation and the parts beside the sea. All the acts of his power and strength, and the whole story of the high honor given to Mordecai by the king, are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia. For Mordecai the Jew was second in power only to King Ahasuerus and great among the Jews. He found favor in the eyes of his people. He worked for the good of his people and spoke for the well-being of all the Jews.

Mordecai’s Advancement

10 And King Ahasuerus imposed tribute on the land and on (A)the islands of the sea. Now all the acts of his power and his might, and the account of the greatness of Mordecai, (B)to which the king [a]advanced him, are they not written in the book of the (C)chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia? For Mordecai the Jew was (D)second to King Ahasuerus, and was great among the Jews and well received by the multitude of his brethren, (E)seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his [b]countrymen.

10 And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.

And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?

For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.

Mordecai’s Greatness

10 Then King Ahasuerus set forced labor upon the land and the (A)coastlands of the sea. And the entire work of his authority and his might, and the full account of the greatness of Mordecai, (B)whom the king had made so great, are they not written in (C)the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia? For Mordecai the Jew was (D)second only to King Ahasuerus and was great among the Jews and pleasing to his many fellow brothers, (E)one who sought the good of his people and one who spoke for the peace of all his seed.
