And they gave them drink in vessels of gold, and changed vessel after vessel, and royal wine in abundance, according to the [a]power of the king.

And the drinking was by an order, none might [b]compel: for so the king had appointed unto all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man’s pleasure.

¶ The Queen Vashti made a feast also for the women in the royal house of King Ahasuerus.
