A grandeza de Mordecai
10 O rei Xerxes obrigou os moradores do seu reino, tanto os do litoral como os do interior, a fazerem trabalhos forçados. 2 Todas as grandes e maravilhosas coisas que Xerxes fez e também a história completa de como colocou Mordecai num alto cargo do seu governo, tudo isso está escrito nos livros da História dos Reis da Média e da Pérsia. 3 O judeu Mordecai ocupou a mais alta posição do reino, logo abaixo do rei Xerxes. Mordecai era admirado e estimado por todos os judeus. Ele fez tudo o que pôde pelo bem-estar do seu povo e pelo progresso da sua raça.

Mordecai’s Advancement
10 And King Ahasuerus imposed tribute on the land and on (A)the islands of the sea. 2 Now all the acts of his power and his might, and the account of the greatness of Mordecai, (B)to which the king [a]advanced him, are they not written in the book of the (C)chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia? 3 For Mordecai the Jew was (D)second to King Ahasuerus, and was great among the Jews and well received by the multitude of his brethren, (E)seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his [b]countrymen.

Mordecai’s Greatness
10 Now King Ahasuerus imposed a tax on the land and the (A)coastlands of the sea. 2 And every accomplishment of his authority and power, and the full account of the greatness of Mordecai (B)with which the king honored him, are they not written in (C)the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Media and Persia? 3 For Mordecai the Jew was (D)second only to King Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews and in favor with his many kinsmen, (E)one who sought the good of his people and one who spoke for the welfare of his entire [a]nation.
