7 Dryckerna sattes fram i guldkärl, inget var det andra likt, och kungligt vin fanns i mängd så som det anstår en kung. 8 När man drack gällde den regeln att ingen fick tvingas, ty kungen hade befallt alla sina hovmästare att de skulle rätta sig efter vars och ens önskan. 9 Samtidigt gjorde också drottning Vasti ett gästabud för kvinnorna i kung Ahasveros kungliga palats.

Esther 1:7-9
New International Version
7 Wine was served in goblets of gold, each one different from the other, and the royal wine was abundant, in keeping with the king’s liberality.(A) 8 By the king’s command each guest was allowed to drink with no restrictions, for the king instructed all the wine stewards to serve each man what he wished.
9 Queen Vashti also gave a banquet(B) for the women in the royal palace of King Xerxes.

7 And they served drinks in golden vessels, each vessel being different from the other, with royal wine in abundance, (A)according to the [a]generosity of the king. 8 In accordance with the law, the drinking was not compulsory; for so the king had ordered all the officers of his household, that they should do according to each man’s pleasure.
9 Queen Vashti also made a feast for the women in the royal palace which belonged to King Ahasuerus.
