²⁶ (Therefore these days were called Purim, from the word pur.^(A)) Because of everything written in this letter and because of what they had seen and what had happened to them,

²⁰ Mordecai recorded these events, and he sent letters to all the Jews throughout the provinces of King Xerxes, near and far,

¹¹ “‘On that day I will give Gog a burial place in Israel, in the valley of those who travel east of the Sea. It will block the way of travelers, because Gog and all his hordes will be buried^(A) there. So it will be called the Valley of Hamon Gog.^[a](B)

⁴⁰ as the Lord directed him through Moses. This was to remind the Israelites that no one except a descendant of Aaron should come to burn incense^(A) before the Lord,^(B) or he would become like Korah and his followers.^(C)
