⁹ Then let this robe and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most noble princes, that he may array the man whom the king delights to honor. Then ^[a]parade him on horseback through the city square, ^(A)and proclaim before him: ‘Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor!’ ”

⁴³ And he had him ride in the second ^(A)chariot which he had; ^(B)and they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” So he set him ^(C)over all the land of Egypt.

³³ The king also said to them, ^(A)“Take with you the servants of your lord, and have Solomon my son ride on my own ^(B)mule, and take him down to ^(C)Gihon.^{[a] 34} There let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet ^(D)anoint him king over Israel; and ^(E)blow the horn, and say, ^[b]‘Long live King Solomon!’
