Offrandet börjar på nytt

När sjunde månaden[a] kom och Israels barn bodde i sina städer, samlades folket som en man i Jerusalem.

Jesua, Josadaks son, och hans bröder, prästerna, och Serubbabel, Sealtiels son, och hans bröder, började bygga Israels Guds altare för att offra brännoffer där, så som det var föreskrivet i gudsmannen Moses lag. De uppförde altaret på dess plats, eftersom de var rädda för folken som bodde där i landet. På altaret offrade de brännoffer åt Herren, morgonens och aftonens brännoffer.

Rebuilding the Altar

When the seventh month came and the Israelites had settled in their towns,(A) the people assembled(B) together as one in Jerusalem. Then Joshua(C) son of Jozadak(D) and his fellow priests and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel(E) and his associates began to build the altar of the God of Israel to sacrifice burnt offerings on it, in accordance with what is written in the Law of Moses(F) the man of God. Despite their fear(G) of the peoples around them, they built the altar on its foundation and sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord, both the morning and evening sacrifices.(H)

Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

And they set the altar upon his bases; for fear was upon them because of the people of those countries: and they offered burnt offerings thereon unto the Lord, even burnt offerings morning and evening.
