2 Und dies sind die Söhne der Provinz [Juda], die heraufgezogen sind aus der Gefangenschaft der Weggeführten, die Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, nach Babel weggeführt hatte, und die wieder nach Jerusalem und Juda zurückkehrten, jeder in seine Stadt,

55 Die Söhne der Knechte Salomos: die Söhne Sotais, die Söhne Sopherets, die Söhne Perudas;

56 die Söhne Jaalas, die Söhne Darkons, die Söhne Giddels;

57 die Söhne Schephatjas, die Söhne Hattils, die Söhne Pocherets, von Zebajim, die Söhne Amis.

58 Die Zahl aller Tempeldiener und Söhne der Knechte Salomos betrug 392.

59 Und diese zogen auch mit herauf aus Tel-Melach und Tel-Harsa, Kerub, Addan und Immer, konnten aber das Haus ihrer Väter und ihre Abstammung nicht nachweisen, ob sie aus Israel seien:

60 die Söhne Delajas, die Söhne Tobijas, die Söhne Nekodas: 652.

61 Und von den Söhnen der Priester: die Söhne Habajas, die Söhne des Hakkoz, die Söhne Barsillais, der von den Töchtern Barsillais, des Gileaditers, eine Frau genommen hatte und nach deren Namen[a] genannt worden war.

62 Diese suchten ihr Geschlechtsregister, und als sie es nicht fanden, wurden sie als unrein vom Priestertum ausgeschlossen.

63 Und der Statthalter[b] sagte ihnen, dass sie nicht vom Hochheiligen essen dürften, bis ein Priester für die Urim und die Thummim[c] [seinen Dienst] antreten würde.

64 Die Gesamtzahl der ganzen Gemeinde betrug 42 360,

65 ohne ihre Knechte und ihre Mägde; deren Zahl betrug 7 337; und dazu kamen noch 200 Sänger und Sängerinnen.

66 Sie hatten 736 Pferde und 245 Maultiere,

67 an Kamelen 435, und 6 720 Esel.

68 Und als sie zum Haus des Herrn nach Jerusalem kamen, gaben etliche von den Familienhäuptern freiwillige Gaben für das Haus Gottes, damit man es an seiner [früheren] Stätte wieder aufbauen könnte;

69 und zwar gaben sie nach ihrem Vermögen für den Bauschatz 61 000 Gold-Dareiken[d] und 5 000 Silberminen und 100 Priestergewänder.

70 Und die Priester und die Leviten und die aus dem Volk und die Sänger und die Torhüter und die Tempeldiener ließen sich in ihren Städten nieder und alle Israeliten in ihren Städten.

Verzeichnis der heimkehrenden Israeliten (Nehemia 7,6‒72)

2 Viele Juden, deren Vorfahren König Nebukadnezar nach Babylonien verschleppt hatte, kehrten nun nach Jerusalem und nach ganz Juda zurück, jeder an den Ort, aus dem seine Familie ursprünglich stammte. 2 Sie wurden angeführt von Serubbabel, Jeschua, Nehemja, Seraja, Reelaja, Mordochai, Bilschan, Misperet, Bigwai, Rehum und Baana.

Es folgt ein Verzeichnis der heimkehrenden Sippen mit der Zahl der zu ihnen gehörenden Männer:

55 Von den Nachkommen der Diener Salomos kamen zurück:

die Sippen von Sotai, Soferet, Peruda,

56 Jaala, Darkon, Giddel,

57 Schefatja, Hattil, Pocheret-Zebajim und Ami.

58 Insgesamt kehrten 392 Tempeldiener und Nachkommen von Salomos Dienern nach Israel zurück.

59-60 Von den heimkehrenden Familien stammten 652 aus den Orten Tel-Melach, Tel-Harscha, Kerub-Addon und Immer. Sie gehörten zu den Sippen Delaja, Tobija und Nekoda, konnten jedoch ihre israelitische Abstammung nicht nachweisen.

61-62 Einige der Priester durften keinen Tempeldienst ausüben, denn ihre Abstammungsregister waren nicht aufzufinden. Sie kamen aus den Sippen von Habaja, Hakkoz und Barsillai. Der Stammvater der Sippe Barsillai hatte eine Tochter des Gileaditers Barsillai geheiratet und den Namen seines Schwiegervaters angenommen. 63 Der persische Statthalter verbot den Priestern aus diesen drei Sippen, von den geweihten Opfergaben zu essen, bis wieder ein Hoherpriester im Amt wäre, der das heilige Los werfen durfte, um über ihren Fall zu entscheiden.

64 Insgesamt kehrten 42.360 Israeliten in ihre Heimat zurück, 65 dazu kamen 7337 Sklaven und Sklavinnen und 200 Sänger und Sängerinnen.

66 Die Israeliten brachten 736 Pferde, 245 Maultiere, 67 435 Kamele und 6720 Esel mit.

68 Als sie beim Tempelgelände in Jerusalem ankamen, stifteten einige Sippenoberhäupter freiwillige Gaben, damit das Haus des Herrn wieder an seinem früheren Platz errichtet werden konnte. 69 Jeder gab, so viel er konnte. Insgesamt kamen 61.000 Goldmünzen und 3600 Kilogramm Silber zusammen; außerdem wurden 100 Priestergewänder gestiftet.

70 Die Priester, die Leviten, die Sänger, Torwächter und Tempeldiener ließen sich wie die übrigen Israeliten in ihren früheren Heimatorten nieder.

60 six hundred fifty-two of the sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, and the sons of Nekoda.

61 And of the sons of the priests were the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Koz, and the sons of Barzillai, who took of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite to wife and were called after their name.

62 These sought their writings in the genealogies, but they were not found. Therefore, they were cast out from the priesthood.

63 And Tirshatha told them that they should not eat of the Most Holy thing, until there rose up a priest with Urim and Thummim.

64 Altogether, the whole Congregation was forty-two thousand three hundred sixty,

65 besides their servants and their maids (of whom were seven thousand three hundred thirty-seven). And among them were two hundred singing men and singing women.

66 Their horses were seven hundred thirty-six. Their mules were two hundred forty-five.

67 Their camels were four hundred thirty-five. Their donkeys were six thousand seven hundred-twenty.

68 And certain of the chief fathers, when they came to the House of the LORD, which was in Jerusalem, they offered willingly for the House of God, to set it up upon its foundation.

69 They gave to the treasure of the work after their ability: sixty-one thousand drams of gold, five thousand pieces of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

70 So the priests and the Levites and some of the people and the singers and the gatekeepers and the Nethinim dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.

62 These searched for their family records, but they could not find them and so were excluded from the priesthood(Z) as unclean. 63 The governor ordered them not to eat any of the most sacred food(AA) until there was a priest ministering with the Urim and Thummim.(AB)

64 The whole company numbered 42,360, 65 besides their 7,337 male and female slaves; and they also had 200 male and female singers.(AC) 66 They had 736 horses,(AD) 245 mules, 67 435 camels and 6,720 donkeys.

68 When they arrived at the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, some of the heads of the families(AE) gave freewill offerings toward the rebuilding of the house of God on its site. 69 According to their ability they gave to the treasury for this work 61,000 darics[b] of gold, 5,000 minas[c] of silver and 100 priestly garments.

70 The priests, the Levites, the musicians, the gatekeepers and the temple servants settled in their own towns, along with some of the other people, and the rest of the Israelites settled in their towns.(AF)
