18 Ma DIO fece fare al popolo un giro, per la via del deserto, verso il Mar Rosso. E i figli d'Israele salirono armati dal paese d'Egitto.
19 Mosè prese con sé le ossa di Giuseppe, perché questi aveva espressamente fatto giurare i figli d'Israele, dicendo: «Certamente DIO vi visterà; allora trasportate di qui le mie ossa con voi».
20 Così essi partirono da Sukkoth e si accamparono a Etham, ai margini del deserto.

18 Dios, pues, hizo que el pueblo diera un rodeo por el camino del desierto, hacia el mar Rojo[a]; y en orden de batalla subieron los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto(A). 19 Y Moisés tomó consigo los huesos de José, pues este había hecho jurar solemnemente a los hijos de Israel, diciendo: Ciertamente os visitará Dios, y entonces llevaréis de aquí mis huesos con vosotros(B). 20 Y partieron de Sucot y acamparon en Etam, al borde del desierto(C).

18 But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.
19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
20 And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.

18 So God led(A) the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.[a] The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle.(B)
19 Moses took the bones of Joseph(C) with him because Joseph had made the Israelites swear an oath. He had said, “God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you from this place.”[b](D)
20 After leaving Sukkoth(E) they camped at Etham on the edge of the desert.(F)
