Decreto de Darío
6 Entonces el rey Darío proclamó un decreto, y buscaron en los archivos donde se guardaban los tesoros allí en Babilonia(A). 2 Y en Acmeta, en la fortaleza que está en la provincia de Media(B), hallaron un rollo en el que estaba escrito lo siguiente: Memorándum: 3 «En el año primero del rey Ciro, el rey Ciro proclamó un decreto: “En cuanto a la casa de Dios en Jerusalén, que sea reedificado el templo[a](C), el lugar donde se ofrecen los sacrificios, y que se conserven sus cimientos, con su altura de 60 codos (27 metros) y su anchura de 60 codos; 4 con tres hileras de piedras enormes y una hilera de madera(D); y que los gastos se paguen del tesoro real. 5 Y que también se devuelvan los utensilios de oro y de plata de la casa de Dios, los cuales Nabucodonosor sacó del templo en Jerusalén y trajo a Babilonia, y que se lleven a sus lugares en el templo en Jerusalén y sean colocados en la casa de Dios(E)”.
6 »Ahora pues, Tatnai, gobernador de la provincia al otro lado del Río[b], Setar Boznai, y sus compañeros(F), los oficiales del otro lado del río, aléjense de allí. 7 No impidan esta obra de la casa de Dios, y que el gobernador de los judíos y los ancianos de los judíos reedifiquen esta casa de Dios en su lugar. 8 Además, este es mi decreto en cuanto a lo que han de hacer por estos ancianos de Judá en la reedificación de esta casa de Dios: del tesoro real de los tributos del otro lado del río se han de pagar todos los gastos a este pueblo(G), y esto sin demora. 9 Y todo lo que se necesite: novillos, carneros y corderos para holocausto al Dios del cielo, y trigo, sal, vino y aceite de unción, según lo pidan los sacerdotes que están en Jerusalén, se les dará día por día sin falta, 10 para que puedan ofrecer sacrificios agradables al Dios del cielo y orar por la vida del rey y de sus hijos(H).
11 »He proclamado un decreto de que cualquiera que quebrante este edicto(I), se arranque un madero de su casa, y levantándolo, sea colgado[c] en él, y que su casa sea reducida a escombros(J) a causa de esto. 12 Y que el Dios que ha hecho morar allí Su nombre(K) derribe a todo rey o pueblo que trate de cambiarlo para destruir esta casa de Dios en Jerusalén. Yo, Darío, he proclamado este decreto; que sea ejecutado con toda exactitud».
13 Entonces Tatnai, gobernador de la provincia al otro lado del Río[d], Setar Boznai y sus compañeros(L) llevaron a cabo el decreto con toda exactitud, tal como el rey Darío había ordenado. 14 Y los ancianos de los judíos tuvieron éxito en la edificación según la profecía del profeta Hageo y de Zacarías, hijo de Iddo(M). Y terminaron de edificar conforme al mandato del Dios de Israel y al decreto de Ciro(N), de Darío(O) y de Artajerjes, rey de Persia(P). 15 Y este templo fue terminado el tercer día del mes de Adar(Q); era el año sexto del reinado del rey Darío.
Dedicación del templo
16 Los israelitas, los sacerdotes, los levitas y los demás desterrados, celebraron con júbilo la dedicación de esta casa de Dios(R). 17 Y para la dedicación de esta casa de Dios ofrecieron 100 novillos, 200 carneros, 400 corderos, y como ofrenda por el pecado por todo Israel, doce machos cabríos(S), conforme al número de las tribus de Israel. 18 Entonces asignaron a los sacerdotes en sus secciones(T) y a los levitas en sus clases(U) para el servicio de Dios en Jerusalén, como está escrito en el libro de Moisés(V).
19 Los desterrados(W) celebraron la Pascua el día catorce del mes primero(X). 20 Puesto que los sacerdotes y los levitas se habían purificado(Y) juntos, todos ellos estaban purificados, entonces mataron al cordero de la Pascua(Z) para todos los desterrados, tanto para sus hermanos los sacerdotes como para sí mismos. 21 Los israelitas que habían vuelto del destierro y todos aquellos que se habían apartado(AA) de la impureza de las naciones de la tierra(AB) para unirse a ellos, comieron la Pascua para buscar al Señor, Dios de Israel. 22 Y por siete días celebraron gozosos la Fiesta de los Panes sin Levadura(AC), porque el Señor los había llenado de regocijo, y había vuelto hacia ellos el corazón del rey de Asiria(AD) para animarlos en la obra de la casa de Dios(AE), el Dios de Israel.

Decreto de Darío
6 Entonces el rey Darío ordenó que se investigara en los archivos donde se guardaban los tesoros de Babilonia. 2 Y en el palacio de Ecbatana, en la provincia de Media, se encontró un rollo que contenía la siguiente memoria:
3 En el primer año de su reinado, el rey Ciro promulgó el siguiente edicto respecto al Templo de Dios en Jerusalén:
Que se echen los cimientos y se reconstruya el templo, para que en él se ofrezcan holocaustos. Tendrá sesenta codos[a] tanto de alto como de ancho, 4 tres hileras de piedras grandes y una de madera. Todos los gastos serán sufragados por el tesoro real. 5 Con respecto a los utensilios de oro y de plata que Nabucodonosor sacó del Templo de Jerusalén y llevó a Babilonia, que los devuelvan a Jerusalén y que se pongan en el templo de Dios, donde deben estar.
6 Entonces el rey Darío dio la siguiente orden[b] a Tatenay, gobernador de la provincia al oeste del río Éufrates, y a Setar Bosnay y a sus compañeros, los funcionarios de dicha provincia: Aléjense de Jerusalén 7 y no estorben la obra de reconstrucción del templo de Dios. Dejen que el gobernador de la provincia de Judá y los líderes de los judíos reconstruyan el templo en su antiguo sitio.
8 También he decidido que ustedes deben prestarles ayuda, sufragando los gastos de la reconstrucción del templo con los impuestos que la provincia al oeste del río Éufrates paga al tesoro real.
No se tarden en pagar todos los gastos, para que no se interrumpan las obras. 9 Además, todos los días, sin falta, deberán suministrarles becerros, carneros y corderos para ofrecerlos en holocausto al Dios del cielo, junto con trigo, sal, vino y aceite, y todo lo que necesiten, según las instrucciones de los sacerdotes que están en Jerusalén. 10 Así podrán ellos ofrecer sacrificios gratos al Dios del cielo y rogar por la vida del rey y de sus hijos.
11 He determinado asimismo que, quien desobedezca esta orden, sea empalado en una viga sacada de su propia casa y le derrumben la casa. 12 ¡Que el Dios que decidió poner su Nombre allí derribe a cualquier rey o nación que intente modificar este decreto o destruir ese templo de Dios en Jerusalén!
Yo, Darío, promulgo este decreto. Publíquese y cúmplase al pie de la letra.
Terminación y dedicación del templo
13 Entonces Tatenay, gobernador de la provincia al oeste del río Éufrates, y Setar Bosnay y sus compañeros cumplieron al pie de la letra lo que el rey Darío les había ordenado. 14 Así los líderes de los judíos pudieron continuar y terminar la obra de reconstrucción, conforme a la palabra de los profetas Hageo y Zacarías, hijo de Idó. Terminaron, pues, la obra de reconstrucción, como lo había ordenado el Dios de Israel y por decreto de Ciro, Darío y Artajerjes, reyes de Persia. 15 La reconstrucción del templo se terminó el día tres del mes de adar, en el año sexto del reinado de Darío.
16 Entonces los israelitas —es decir, los sacerdotes, los levitas y los demás que regresaron del cautiverio—, llenos de júbilo dedicaron el Templo de Dios. 17 Como ofrenda de dedicación, ofrecieron a Dios cien becerros, doscientos carneros, cuatrocientos corderos y doce chivos, conforme al número de las tribus de Israel, para obtener el perdón por el pecado del pueblo. 18 Luego, según lo que está escrito en el libro de Moisés, instalaron a los sacerdotes en sus turnos y a los levitas en sus funciones, para el culto que se ofrece a Dios en Jerusalén.
Celebración de la Pascua
19 Los que regresaron del cautiverio celebraron la Pascua el día catorce del mes primero. 20 Los sacerdotes y levitas se habían unido para purificarse y, ya estando ritualmente limpios, mataron el cordero pascual por todos los que habían regresado del cautiverio, por sus compañeros los sacerdotes y por ellos mismos. 21 Los israelitas que regresaron del cautiverio comieron la Pascua junto con los que se habían apartado de la impureza de sus vecinos para seguir al Señor, Dios de Israel. 22 Durante siete días celebraron con mucho gozo la fiesta de los Panes sin levadura, porque el Señor les había devuelto la alegría y había hecho que el rey de Asiria los ayudara y permitiera reconstruir el templo del Dios de Israel.

6 Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.
2 And there was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of the Medes, a roll, and therein was a record thus written:
3 In the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits;
4 With three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king's house:
5 And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to his place, and place them in the house of God.
6 Now therefore, Tatnai, governor beyond the river, Shetharboznai, and your companions the Apharsachites, which are beyond the river, be ye far from thence:
7 Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in his place.
8 Moreover I make a decree what ye shall do to the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the river, forthwith expenses be given unto these men, that they be not hindered.
9 And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests which are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail:
10 That they may offer sacrifices of sweet savours unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.
11 Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this.
12 And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.
13 Then Tatnai, governor on this side the river, Shetharboznai, and their companions, according to that which Darius the king had sent, so they did speedily.
14 And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.
15 And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.
16 And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy.
17 And offered at the dedication of this house of God an hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve he goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.
18 And they set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem; as it is written in the book of Moses.
19 And the children of the captivity kept the passover upon the fourteenth day of the first month.
20 For the priests and the Levites were purified together, all of them were pure, and killed the passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves.
21 And the children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of the heathen of the land, to seek the Lord God of Israel, did eat,
22 And kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for the Lord had made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

6 At the commandment of Darius king of Persia, after the Temple was built and dedicated, the children of Israel keep the feast of unleavened bread.
1 Then king Darius gave commandment, and they made search in the [a]library of the treasures, which were there laid up in Babel.
2 And there was found in a [b]coffer (in the palace that was in the province of the Medes) a volume, and therein was it thus written, as a memorial,
3 IN THE FIRST year of King Cyrus, King Cyrus made a decree for the house of God in Jerusalem, Let the house be built, even the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the walls thereof be joined together: let the height thereof be threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits,
4 Three [c]orders of [d]great stones, and one order of timber, and let the expenses be given of the king’s house.
5 And also let them render the vessels of the house of God (of gold and silver, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the Temple, which was in Jerusalem, and brought unto Babel) and let [e]him go unto the Temple that is in Jerusalem to his place, and put them in the house of God.
6 Therefore Tattenai captain beyond the river, and Shethar-Boznai, (and their companions Apharsecai, which are beyond the River) be ye far [f]from thence.
7 Suffer ye the work of this house of God, that the captain of the Jews and the Elders of the Jews may build this house of God in his place.
8 For I have given a commandment what ye shall do to the Elders of these Jews, for the building of this house of God, that of the revenues of the King, which is of the tribute beyond the River, there be incontinently expenses given unto these men that they [g]cease not.
9 And that which they shall have need of, let it be given unto them day by day, whether it be young bullocks, or rams, or lambs for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the Priests that are in Jerusalem, that there be no fault,
10 That they may have to offer sweet odors unto the God of heaven, and pray for the king’s life, and for his sons.
11 And I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this sentence, the wood shall be pulled down from his house, and shall be set up, and he shall be hanged thereon, and his house shall be made a dunghill for this.
12 And the God that hath caused his Name [h]to dwell there, destroy all kings and people that put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God, which is in Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree, let it be done with speed.

20 (For the Priests and the Levites were purified altogether) and they killed the Passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the Priests, and for themselves.
21 So the children of Israel which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had [l]separated themselves unto them, from the filthiness of the Heathen of the land to seek the Lord God of Israel, did eat,
22 And they kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for the Lord had made them glad, and turned the heart of the king of [m]Assyria unto them, to [n]encourage them in the work of the house of God, even the God of Israel.
