33 Ve dig, du Hærværksmand, selv ikke hærget, du Ransmand, skånet for Ran! Når dit Hærværk er endt, skal du hærges, når din Ranen har Ende, skal der ranes fra dig!
2 Herre, vær os nådig, vi bier på dig, vær du vor Arm hver Morgen, vor Frelse i Nødens Stund!
3 For Bulderet må Folkeslag fly; når du rejser dig, splittes Folkene. 4 Som Græshopper bortriver, bortrives Bytte, man styrter derover som Græshoppesværme. 5 Ophøjet er Herren, thi han bor i det høje, han fylder Zion med Ret og Retfærd. 6 Trygge Tider skal du have, en Frelsesrigdom er Visdom og Indsigt, Herrens Frygt er din Skat.
7 Se, deres Helte skriger derude, Fredens Sendebud græder bittert; 8 Vejene er øde, vejfarende borte. Han brød sin Pagt, agted Byer ringe, Mennesker regned han ikke. 9 Landet blegner og sygner, Libanon skæmmes og visner; Saron er som en Ørken, Basan og Karmel uden Løv.
10 Nu står jeg op, siger Herren, nu vil jeg rejse mig, nu træde frem! 11 I undfanger Strå og føder Halm, eders Ånde er Ild, der fortærer jer selv; 12 til Kalk skal Folkene brændes som afhugget Torn, der brænder i Ild. 13 Hvad jeg gør, skal rygtes til fjerne Folk, nære skal kende min Vælde.
14 På Zion skal Syndere bæve, Niddinger gribes af Skælven: "Hvem kan bo ved fortærende Ild, hvem kan bo ved evige Bål?" 15 Den, der vandrer i Retfærd og taler oprigtigt, ringeagter Vinding, vundet ved Uret, vægrer sig ved at tage mod Gave, tilstopper Øret over for Blodråd og lukker Øjnene over for det onde - 16 højt skal en sådan bo, hans Værn skal Klippeborge være; han får sit Brød, og Vand er ham sikret.
17 Dine Øjne får Kongen at se i hans Skønhed, de skuer et vidtstrakt Land. 18 Dit Hjerte skal tænke på Rædselen: "Hvor er nu han, der talte og vejede, han, der talte Tårnene?" 19 Du ser ej det vilde Folk med dybt, uforståeligt Mål, med stammende, ufattelig Tunge. 20 Se på Zion, vore Højtiders By! Dine Øjne skal skue Jerusalem, et sikkert Lejrsted, et Telt, der ej flytter, hvis Pæle aldrig rykkes op, hvis Snore ej rives over. 21 Nej der træder Herrens Bæk for os i Floders og brede Strømmes Sted; der kan ej Åreskib gå, ej vældigt Langskib sejle. 22 Thi Herren er vor Dommer, Herren er vor Hersker, Herren er vor Konge, han bringer os Frelse. 23 Slapt hænger dit Tovværk, det holder ej Råen og spænder ej Sejlet. Da uddeles røvet Bytte i Overflod, halte tager Del i Rovet. 24 Ingen Indbygger siger: "Jeg er syg!" Folket der har sin Synd forladt.

33 AY de ti, el que saqueas, y nunca fuiste saqueado; el que haces deslealtad, bien que nadie contra ti la hizo! Cuando acabares de saquear, serás tú saqueado; y cuando acabares de hacer deslealtad, haráse contra ti.
2 Oh Jehová, ten misericordia de nosotros, á ti hemos esperado: tú, brazo de ellos en la mañana, sé también nuestra salud en tiempo de la tribulación.
3 Los pueblos huyeron á la voz del estruendo; las gentes fueron esparcidas por tus levantamientos.
4 Mas vuestra presa será cogida como cuando cogen las orugas: correrá sobre ellos como de una á otra parte corren las langostas.
5 Será ensalzado Jehová, el cual mora en las alturas: llenó á Sión de juicio y de justicia.
6 Y reinarán en tus tiempos la sabiduría y la ciencia, y la fuerza de la salvación: el temor de Jehová será su tesoro.
7 He aquí que sus embajadores darán voces afuera; los mensajeros de paz llorarán amargamente.
8 Las calzadas están desechas, cesaron los caminantes: anulado ha la alianza, aborreció las ciudades, tuvo en nada los hombres.
9 Enlutóse, enfermó la tierra: el Líbano se avergonzó, y fué cortado: hase tornado Sarón como desierto; y Basán y Carmel fueron sacudidos.
10 Ahora me levantaré, dice Jehová; ahora seré ensalzado, ahora seré engrandecido.
11 Concebisteis hojarascas, aristas pariréis: el soplo de vuestro fuego os consumirá.
12 Y los pueblos serán como cal quemada: como espinas cortadas serán quemados con fuego.
13 Oid, los que estáis lejos, lo que he hecho; y vosotros los cercanos, conoced mi potencia.
14 Los pecadores se asombraron en Sión, espanto sobrecogió á los hipócritas. ¿Quién de nosotros morará con el fuego consumidor? ¿quién de nosotros habitará con las llamas eternas?
15 El que camina en justicia, y habla lo recto; el que aborrece la ganancia de violencias, el que sacude sus manos por no recibir cohecho, el que tapa su oreja por no oir sangres, el que cierra sus ojos por no ver cosa mala:
16 Este habitará en las alturas: fortalezas de rocas serán su lugar de acogimiento; se le dará su pan, y sus aguas serán ciertas.
17 Tus ojos verán al Rey en su hermosura; verán la tierra que está lejos.
18 Tu corazón imaginará el espanto, y dirá: ¿Qué es del escriba? ¿qué del pesador? ¿qué del que pone en lista las casas más insignes?
19 No verás á aquel pueblo espantable, pueblo de lengua oscura de entender, de lengua tartamuda que no comprendas.
20 Mira á Sión, ciudad de nuestras solemnidades: tus ojos verán á Jerusalem, morada de quietud, tienda que no será desarmada, ni serán arrancadas sus estacas, ni ninguna de sus cuerdas será rota.
21 Porque ciertamente allí será Jehová para con nosotros fuerte, lugar de ríos, de arroyos muy anchos, por el cual no andará galera, ni por él pasará grande navío.
22 Porque Jehová es nuestro juez, Jehová es nuestro legislador, Jehová es nuestro Rey, él mismo nos salvará.
23 Tus cuerdas se aflojaron; no afirmaron su mástil, ni entesaron la vela: repartiráse entonces presa de muchos despojos: los cojos arrebatarán presa.
24 No dirá el morador: Estoy enfermo: el pueblo que morare en ella será absuelto de pecado.

Distress and Help
33 Woe(A) to you, destroyer,
you who have not been destroyed!
Woe to you, betrayer,
you who have not been betrayed!
When you stop destroying,
you will be destroyed;(B)
when you stop betraying,
you will be betrayed.(C)
2 Lord, be gracious(D) to us;
we long for you.
Be our strength(E) every morning,
our salvation(F) in time of distress.(G)
3 At the uproar of your army,(H) the peoples flee;(I)
when you rise up,(J) the nations scatter.
4 Your plunder,(K) O nations, is harvested(L) as by young locusts;(M)
like a swarm of locusts people pounce on it.
5 The Lord is exalted,(N) for he dwells on high;(O)
he will fill Zion with his justice(P) and righteousness.(Q)
6 He will be the sure foundation for your times,
a rich store of salvation(R) and wisdom and knowledge;
the fear(S) of the Lord is the key to this treasure.[a](T)
7 Look, their brave men(U) cry aloud in the streets;
the envoys(V) of peace weep bitterly.
8 The highways are deserted,
no travelers(W) are on the roads.(X)
The treaty is broken,(Y)
its witnesses[b] are despised,
no one is respected.
9 The land dries up(Z) and wastes away,
Lebanon(AA) is ashamed and withers;(AB)
Sharon(AC) is like the Arabah,
and Bashan(AD) and Carmel(AE) drop their leaves.
10 “Now will I arise,(AF)” says the Lord.
“Now will I be exalted;(AG)
now will I be lifted up.
11 You conceive(AH) chaff,
you give birth(AI) to straw;
your breath is a fire(AJ) that consumes you.
12 The peoples will be burned to ashes;(AK)
like cut thornbushes(AL) they will be set ablaze.(AM)”
13 You who are far away,(AN) hear(AO) what I have done;
you who are near, acknowledge my power!
14 The sinners(AP) in Zion are terrified;
trembling(AQ) grips the godless:
“Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire?(AR)
Who of us can dwell with everlasting burning?”
15 Those who walk righteously(AS)
and speak what is right,(AT)
who reject gain from extortion(AU)
and keep their hands from accepting bribes,(AV)
who stop their ears against plots of murder
and shut their eyes(AW) against contemplating evil—
16 they are the ones who will dwell on the heights,(AX)
whose refuge(AY) will be the mountain fortress.(AZ)
Their bread will be supplied,
and water will not fail(BA) them.
17 Your eyes will see the king(BB) in his beauty(BC)
and view a land that stretches afar.(BD)
18 In your thoughts you will ponder the former terror:(BE)
“Where is that chief officer?
Where is the one who took the revenue?
Where is the officer in charge of the towers?(BF)”
19 You will see those arrogant people(BG) no more,
people whose speech is obscure,
whose language is strange and incomprehensible.(BH)
20 Look on Zion,(BI) the city of our festivals;
your eyes will see Jerusalem,
a peaceful abode,(BJ) a tent(BK) that will not be moved;(BL)
its stakes will never be pulled up,
nor any of its ropes broken.
21 There the Lord will be our Mighty(BM) One.
It will be like a place of broad rivers and streams.(BN)
No galley with oars will ride them,
no mighty ship(BO) will sail them.
22 For the Lord is our judge,(BP)
the Lord is our lawgiver,(BQ)
the Lord is our king;(BR)
it is he who will save(BS) us.
