¹³ But ^(A)all things that are ^[a]exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. ¹⁴ Therefore He says:

Walk in Wisdom

^15 (C)See then that you walk ^[b]circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, ^16 (D)redeeming the time, ^(E)because the days are evil.

^17 (F)Therefore do not be unwise, but ^(G)understand ^(H)what the will of the Lord is.

The Essence of the Law

¹² “And now, Israel, ^(A)what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to ^(B)love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, ¹³ and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today ^(C)for your ^[a]good? ¹⁴ Indeed heaven and the highest heavens belong to the ^(D)Lord your God, also the earth with all that is in it.

Christ’s Example to Be Followed

4 Therefore, since Christ suffered ^[a]for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, ² that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, ^(A)but for the will of God. ³ For we have spent enough of our past ^[b]lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.
