Ephesians 4:7-13

7 But (A)to each one of us (B)grace was given (C)according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8 Therefore [a]it says,

“(D)When He ascended on high,
He (E)led captive a host of captives,
And He gave gifts to men.”

9 (Now this expression, “He (F)ascended,” what [b]does it mean except that He also [c]descended into (G)the lower parts of the earth? 10 He who descended is Himself also He who ascended (H)far above all the heavens, so that He might (I)fill all things.) 11 And He Himself (J)gave (K)some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as (L)evangelists, and some as pastors and (M)teachers, 12 (N)for the equipping of the [d]saints for the work of service, to the building up of (O)the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to (P)the unity of the faith, and of the [e](Q)full knowledge of the Son of God, to a (R)mature man, to the measure of the stature [f]which belongs to the (S)fullness of Christ,

7 Now grace was given to each one of us(A) according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8 For it says:

When he ascended(B) on high,
he took the captives captive;
he gave gifts to people.[a](C)

9 But what does “he ascended” mean except that he[b] also descended to the lower parts of the earth?[c](D) 10 The one who descended is also the one who ascended far above all the heavens,(E) to fill all things.(F) 11 And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ,(G) 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son,(H) growing into maturity with a stature(I) measured by Christ’s fullness.
