29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths,(A) but only what is helpful for building others up(B) according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,(C) with whom you were sealed(D) for the day of redemption.(E) 31 Get rid of(F) all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.(G) 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another,(H) forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.(I) Follow God’s example,(J) therefore, as dearly loved children(K) and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us(L) and gave himself up for us(M) as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.(N)

But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality,(O) or of any kind of impurity, or of greed,(P) because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk(Q) or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.(R) For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater(S)—has any inheritance(T) in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[a](U) Let no one deceive you(V) with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath(W) comes on those who are disobedient.(X) Therefore do not be partners with them.

  1. Ephesians 5:5 Or kingdom of the Messiah and God

29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
