King James Version
27 Neither give place to the devil.
28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

27 and do not (A)give the devil [a]an opportunity. 28 The one who steals must no longer steal; but rather (B)he must labor, (C)producing with his own hands what is good, (D)so that he will have something to share with the one who has need. 29 Let no [b](E)unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for (F)edification [c]according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

New International Reader's Version
27 Don’t give the devil a chance. 28 Anyone who has been stealing must never steal again. Instead, they must work. They must do something useful with their own hands. Then they will have something to give to people in need.
29 Don’t let any evil talk come out of your mouths. Say only what will help to build others up and meet their needs. Then what you say will help those who listen.
