Unity in the Body of Christ

4 I, therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,^{(A) 2} with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,^{(B) 3} making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace: ⁴ there is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling,^{(C) 5} one Lord, one faith, one baptism, ⁶ one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.^[a]

Rules for the New Life

²⁵ So then, putting away falsehood, let each of you speak the truth with your neighbor, for we are members of one another.^{(A) 26} Be angry but do not sin;^[a] do not let the sun go down on your anger,

³¹ Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice.^{(A) 32} Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.^[a](B)
