^8 (A)For by grace you have been saved ^(B)through faith, and that not of yourselves; ^(C)it is the gift of God, ⁹ not of ^(D)works, lest anyone should ^(E)boast.

²⁰ Therefore ^(A)by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

God’s Righteousness Through Faith

²¹ But now ^(B)the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, ^(C)being witnessed by the Law ^(D)and the Prophets, ²² even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all ^[a]and on all who believe. For ^(E)there is no difference;

Boasting Excluded

^27 (A)Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. ²⁸ Therefore we conclude ^(B)that a man is ^[a]justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.

⁶ And ^(A)if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. ^[a]But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

³⁰ But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and ^(A)righteousness and sanctification and redemption— ³¹ that, as it is written, ^(B)“He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

⁹ who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, ^(A)not according to our works, but ^(B)according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus ^(C)before time began,

³ For ^(A)we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. ⁴ But when ^(B)the kindness and the love of ^(C)God our Savior toward man appeared, ^5 (D)not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through ^(E)the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ^6 (F)whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷ that having been justified by His grace ^(G)we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
