Ephesians 2:11-21

¹¹Therefore remember that ^(A)previously ^(B)you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “^(C)Uncircumcision” by the so-called “^(D)Circumcision” which is performed in the flesh by human hands— ¹²remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, ^[a]^(E)excluded from ^[b]the people of Israel, and strangers to ^(F)the covenants of the promise, having ^(G)no hope and ^(H)without God in the world. ¹³But now in ^(I)Christ Jesus you who ^(J)previously were ^(K)far away ^[c]have ^(L)been brought near ^[d]^(M)by the blood of Christ. ¹⁴For He Himself is ^(N)our peace, ^(O)who made both groups into one and broke down the ^[e]barrier of the dividing wall, ¹⁵^[f]by ^(P)abolishing ^[g]in His flesh the hostility, which is ^(Q)the Law composed of commandments expressed in ordinances, so that in Himself He might ^[h]^(R)make the two ^(S)one new person, in this way establishing ^(T)peace; ¹⁶and that He might ^(U)reconcile them both in ^(V)one body to God through the cross, ^[i]by it having ^(W)put to death the hostility. ¹⁷And ^(X)He came and preached ^(Y)peace to you who were ^(Z)far away, and peace to those who were ^(AA)near; ¹⁸for through Him we both have ^(AB)our access in ^(AC)one Spirit to ^(AD)the Father. ¹⁹So then you are no longer ^(AE)strangers and foreigners, but you are ^(AF)fellow citizens with the ^[j]saints, and are of ^(AG)God’s household, ²⁰having been ^(AH)built on ^(AI)the foundation of ^(AJ)the apostles and prophets, ^(AK)Christ Jesus Himself being the ^(AL)cornerstone, ²¹^(AM)in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into ^(AN)a holy ^[k]temple in the Lord,

Jesus Our High Priest

3 Therefore, ^(A)holy brothers and sisters, partakers of a ^(B)heavenly calling, consider ^(C)the Apostle and ^(D)High Priest of our ^(E)confession: Jesus; ²^[a]He was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as ^(F)Moses also was in all His house. ³^(G)For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house. ⁴For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God. ⁵Now ^(H)Moses was faithful in all ^[b]God’s house as ^(I)a servant, ^(J)for a testimony of those things ^(K)which were to be spoken later; ⁶but Christ was faithful as ^(L)a Son over His house—^(M)whose house we are, ^(N)if we hold firmly to our ^(O)confidence and the boast of our ^[c]^(P)hope.

⁷Therefore, just as ^(Q)the Holy Spirit says,

“^(R)Today if you hear His voice,
⁸^(S)Do not harden your hearts as ^[d]when they provoked Me,
As on the day of trial in the wilderness,
⁹^(T)Where your fathers put Me to the test,
And saw My works for ^(U)forty years.
¹⁰^(V)Therefore I was angry with this generation,
And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart,
And they did not know My ways’;
¹¹^(W)As I swore in My anger,
‘They certainly shall not enter My rest.’”

The Danger of Unbelief

¹²^(X)Take care, brothers and sisters, that there will not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart ^[e]that falls away from ^(Y)the living God.
