7 Render service with enthusiasm, as for the Lord and not for humans, 8 knowing that whatever good we do, we will receive the same again from the Lord, whether we are enslaved or free.
9 And, masters,[a] do the same to them. Stop threatening them, for you know that both of you have the same Lord[b] in heaven, and with him there is no partiality.(A)

7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people,(A) 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do,(B) whether they are slave or free.
9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours(C) is in heaven, and there is no favoritism(D) with him.
