Good News Translation
7 Do your work as slaves cheerfully, as though you served the Lord, and not merely human beings. 8 Remember that the Lord will reward each of us, whether slave or free, for the good work we do.
9 (A)Masters, behave in the same way toward your slaves and stop using threats. Remember that you and your slaves belong to the same Master in heaven, who judges everyone by the same standard.

7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people,(A) 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do,(B) whether they are slave or free.
9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours(C) is in heaven, and there is no favoritism(D) with him.
