Common English Bible
4 As for parents, don’t provoke your children to anger, but raise them with discipline and instruction about the Lord.
5 As for slaves, obey your human masters with fear and trembling and with sincere devotion to Christ. 6 Don’t work to make yourself look good and try to flatter people, but act like slaves of Christ carrying out God’s will from the heart.

4 Fathers,[a] do not exasperate your children;(A) instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.(B)
5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect(C) and fear, and with sincerity of heart,(D) just as you would obey Christ.(E) 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ,(F) doing the will of God from your heart.
