And (A)you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but (B)bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

Bondservants and Masters

(C)Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, (D)with fear and trembling, (E)in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; (F)not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, (G)knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.

And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that [a]your own (H)Master also is in heaven, and (I)there is no partiality with Him.

The Whole Armor of God

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 (J)Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [b]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against (K)principalities, against powers, against (L)the rulers of [c]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 (M)Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand (N)in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, (O)having girded your waist with truth, (P)having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 (Q)and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking (R)the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people,(G) because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do,(H) whether they are slave or free.

And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours(I) is in heaven, and there is no favoritism(J) with him.

The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord(K) and in his mighty power.(L) 11 Put on the full armor of God,(M) so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,(N) but against the rulers, against the authorities,(O) against the powers(P) of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.(Q) 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God,(R) so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,(S) with the breastplate of righteousness in place,(T) 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.(U) 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith,(V) with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.(W)
