18 with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints: 19 on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.[a]
19 And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike.[b] 20 I am in chains now, still preaching this message as God’s ambassador. So pray that I will keep on speaking boldly for him, as I should.

18 And pray in the Spirit(A) on all occasions(B) with all kinds of prayers and requests.(C) With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying(D) for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me,(E) that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly(F) make known the mystery(G) of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador(H) in chains.(I) Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
