⁷ Therefore do not become ^(A)partners with them; ⁸ for ^(B)you were once ^(C)darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as ^(D)children of light ⁹ (for ^(E)the fruit of the light consists in all ^(F)goodness, righteousness, and truth), ^10 [a](G)as you try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. ^11 (H)Do not participate in the useless ^(I)deeds of ^(J)darkness, but instead even ^(K)expose them; ¹² for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. ¹³ But all things become visible ^(L)when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. ¹⁴ For this reason ^[b]it says,

¹⁵ So then, ^[c]be careful how you ^(P)walk, not ^(Q)as unwise people but as wise, ^16 [d](R)making the most of your time, because ^(S)the days are evil. ¹⁷ Therefore do not be foolish, but ^(T)understand what the will of the Lord is.
