Marriage Like Christ and the Church
22 (A)Wives, (B)be subject to your own husbands, (C)as to the Lord. 23 For (D)the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the (E)head of the church, He Himself (F)being the Savior of the body. 24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.
25 (G)Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and (H)gave Himself up for her, 26 (I)so that He might sanctify her, having (J)cleansed her by the (K)washing of water with (L)the word, 27 that He might (M)present to Himself the church [a]in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be (N)holy and blameless. 28 So husbands ought also to (O)love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; 29 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, 30 because we are (P)members of His (Q)body. 31 (R)For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. 32 This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to (S)love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she [b](T)respects her husband.
Family Relationships
6 (U)Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 (V)Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3 so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.
4 (W)Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but (X)bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

22 Žene, pokoravajte se svojim muževima kao što se pokoravate Gospodinu. 23 Muž je glava ženi, kao što je Krist glava Crkvi. Crkva je Kristovo tijelo—on sâm je Spasitelj Tijela. 24 Isto kao što se Crkva pokorava Kristu, tako neka se i žene pokoravaju svojim muževima u svemu. 25 Muževi, volite svoje žene kao što je Krist volio Crkvu i dao svoj život za nju. 26 Krist je umro da bi Crkvu učinio svetom. Oprao ju je u vodi i učinio čistom govoreći joj svoju Riječ. 27 Krist je umro da bi Crkvu uzeo k sebi kao prekrasnu nevjestu koja nema mrlje, bore ni bilo kakvog nedostatka, nego je sveta i bezgrešna. 28 Tako i muževi trebaju voljeti svoje žene kao što vole svoja tijela. Onaj tko voli svoju ženu, voli samoga sebe. 29 Jer, nitko ne mrzi svoje tijelo, nego ga hrani i brine se za njega, baš kao i Krist za Crkvu. 30 Mi smo dijelovi njegovog Tijela. 31 »Zato će muškarac ostaviti oca i majku te će se sjediniti sa svojom ženom, i njih će dvoje postati jedno.«[a] 32 Ovo je tajna i govorim vam da se to odnosi na Krista i Crkvu. 33 Dakle, svatko od vas mora voljeti svoju ženu kao što voli samoga sebe, a žena mora poštovati svoga muža.
Djeca i roditelji
6 Djeco, budite poslušni svojim roditeljima jer Gospodin tako želi i jer je to ispravno. 2 »Poštuj svoga oca i majku«,[b] to je prva zapovijed koju prati obećanje: 3 »da ti bude dobro i da dugo živiš na Zemlji.«[c]
4 Roditelji, ne ljutite svoju djecu, nego ih odgajajte i poučavajte po Gospodinovim uputama.
