⁷ with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men,

^23 (A)And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,

Bondservants and Masters

^5 (A)Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, ^(B)with fear and trembling, ^(C)in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; ^6 (D)not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,

^31 (A)Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

¹³ And his ^(A)servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?”

² And the Syrians had gone out ^(A)on^[a] raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel. She ^[b]waited on Naaman’s wife. ³ Then she said to her mistress, “If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy.”

³⁸ These twenty years I have been with you; your ewes and your female goats have not miscarried their young, and I have not eaten the rams of your flock. ^39 (A)That which was torn by beasts I did not bring to you; I bore the loss of it. ^(B)You required it from my hand, whether stolen by day or stolen by night. ⁴⁰ There I was! In the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night, and my sleep departed from my eyes.

⁶ And ^(A)you know that with all my might I have served your father.
