¹⁴ Stand, therefore, and belt your waist with truth and put on the breastplate of righteousness^(A)

⁸ But since we belong to the day, let us be sober and put on the breastplate of faith and love and for a helmet the hope of salvation.^(A)

⁷ truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left;^(A)

⁹ for the fruit of the light^[a] is found in all that is good and right and true.

¹⁷ And this was how I saw the horses in my vision: the riders wore breastplates the color of fire and of sapphire^[a] and of sulfur; the heads of the horses were like lions’ heads, and fire and smoke and sulfur came out of their mouths.^(A)

⁹ they had scales like iron breastplates, and the noise of their wings was like the noise of many chariots with horses rushing into battle.^(A)
