⁴ Let there be ^(A)no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, ^(B)which are out of place, but instead ^(C)let there be thanksgiving.

¹⁴ But she carried her whoring further. She saw men ^(A)portrayed on the wall, the ^(B)images of ^(C)the Chaldeans portrayed in vermilion, ¹⁵ wearing belts on their waists, with flowing turbans on their heads, all of them having the appearance of officers, a likeness of Babylonians whose native land was Chaldea. ¹⁶ When she saw them, she lusted after them and ^(D)sent messengers to them ^(E)in Chaldea. ¹⁷ And the Babylonians came to her ^(F)into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoring lust. And after she was defiled by them, ^(G)she turned from them in disgust.

¹⁵ In that day Tyre will be forgotten for ^(A)seventy years, like the days^[a] of one king. At the end of ^(B)seventy years, it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the prostitute:

¹⁷ At the end of ^(C)seventy years, the Lord will visit Tyre, and she will return to her wages and ^(D)will prostitute herself with all the kingdoms of the world on the face of the earth.

²² For when Herodias's daughter came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his guests. And the king said to the girl, “Ask me for whatever you wish, and I will give it to you.”

^13 (A)Let us walk properly as in the daytime, ^(B)not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, ^(C)not in quarreling and jealousy.

³ For the time that is past ^(A)suffices ^(B)for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry.
