²⁹ For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.

^31 (A)“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the ^(B)two shall become one flesh.”

^14 (A)I will feed them in good pasture, and their fold shall be on the high mountains of Israel. ^(B)There they shall lie down in a good fold and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. ¹⁵ I will feed My flock, and I will make them lie down,” says the Lord God.

^50 (A)This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread ^(B)which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and ^(C)the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

⁵² The Jews therefore ^(D)quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”

⁵³ Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless ^(E)you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. ^54 (F)Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. ⁵⁵ For My flesh is ^[a]food indeed, and My blood is ^[b]drink indeed. ⁵⁶ He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood ^(G)abides in Me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. ^58 (H)This is the bread which came down from heaven—not ^(I)as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

^37 (B)“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets ^(C)and stones those who are sent to her! How often ^(D)I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks ^(E)under her wings, but you were not willing!

²⁷ Then ^(A)the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase. They shall be safe in their land; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have ^(B)broken the bands of their yoke and delivered them from the hand of those who ^(C)enslaved them.
