⁷ But each of us was given grace according to the measure of Christ’s gift.^(A)

³ For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.^(A)

¹⁰ Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.^(A)

⁷ To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.^{(A) 8} To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit,^{(B) 9} to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,^{(C) 10} to another the working of powerful deeds, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.^{(D) 11} All these are activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses.^(E)

² for surely^[a] you have already heard of the commission of God’s grace that was given me for you

⁸ Therefore it is said,

⁹ (When it says, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended^[b] into the lower parts of the earth?^{[c] 10} He who descended is the same one who ascended far above all the heavens, so that he might fill all things.) ¹¹ He himself granted that some are apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers^{(B) 12} to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,^{(C) 13} until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity,^[d] to the measure of the full stature of Christ.^{(D) 14} We must no longer be children, tossed to and fro and blown about by every wind of doctrine by people’s trickery, by their craftiness in deceitful scheming;^(E)

⁸ Although I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given to me to bring to the gentiles the news of the boundless riches of Christ^(A)

²⁸ And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then deeds of power, then gifts of healing, forms of assistance, forms of leadership, various kinds of tongues.^{(A) 29} Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work powerful deeds? ³⁰ Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?^(B)

⁶ We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith;^{(A) 7} ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching;^{(B) 8} the encourager, in encouragement; the giver, in sincerity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.^(C)
