²⁷ and do not make room for the devil.

⁷ Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.^(A)

⁸ Discipline yourselves; keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour.^(A)

¹⁶ With all of these,^[a] take the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one.^(A)

¹¹ put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil,

¹⁰ Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. In fact, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ. ¹¹ And we do this so that we may not be outwitted by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his designs.
