¹⁹ So then you are no longer ^(A)strangers and aliens,^[a] but you are ^(B)fellow citizens with the saints and ^(C)members of the household of God,

²⁰ But ^(A)our citizenship is in heaven, and ^(B)from it we ^(C)await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁰ So then, ^(A)as we have opportunity, let us ^(B)do good to everyone, and especially to those who are ^(C)of the household of faith.

3 See ^(A)what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called ^(B)children of God; and so we are. The reason why ^(C)the world does not know us is that ^(D)it did not know him.

²² But you have come to ^(A)Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, ^(B)the heavenly Jerusalem, and to ^(C)innumerable angels in festal gathering, ²³ and to ^(D)the assembly^[a] of the firstborn who are ^(E)enrolled in heaven, and to ^(F)God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, ²⁴ and to Jesus, ^(G)the mediator of a new covenant, and to ^(H)the sprinkled blood ^(I)that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

¹³ These all died in faith, ^(A)not having received the things promised, but ^(B)having seen them and greeted them from afar, and ^(C)having acknowledged that they were ^(D)strangers and exiles on the earth.

²⁶ for in Christ Jesus ^(A)you are all sons of God, through faith. ²⁷ For as many of you as ^(B)were baptized ^(C)into Christ have ^(D)put on Christ. ^28 (E)There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave^[a] nor free, ^(F)there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

¹² It had a great, high wall, ^(A)with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed— ¹³ on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. ¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve ^(B)foundations, and ^(C)on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

¹⁵ And the one who spoke with me ^(D)had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls. ¹⁶ The city lies foursquare, its length the same as its width. And he measured the city with his rod, 12,000 stadia.^[a] Its length and width and height are equal. ¹⁷ He also measured its wall, 144 cubits^[b] by ^(E)human measurement, which is also ^(F)an angel's measurement. ¹⁸ The wall was built of ^(G)jasper, while the city was pure gold, like ^(H)clear glass. ^19 (I)The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, ²⁰ the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. ²¹ And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and ^(J)the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

²² And ^(K)I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. ²³ And the city ^(L)has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for ^(M)the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. ²⁴ By its light ^(N)will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth ^(O)will bring their glory into it, ²⁵ and ^(P)its gates will never be shut by day—and ^(Q)there will be no night there. ²⁶ They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations.

⁶ This mystery is^[a] that the Gentiles are ^(A)fellow heirs, ^(B)members of the same body, and ^(C)partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.
