Ephesians 2:11-3:13

One in Christ

¹¹ Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called ^(A)the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands— ¹² remember ^(B)that you were at that time separated from Christ, ^(C)alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to ^(D)the covenants of promise, ^(E)having no hope and without God in the world. ¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you who once were ^(F)far off have been brought near ^(G)by the blood of Christ. ¹⁴ For ^(H)he himself is our peace, ^(I)who has made us both one and has broken down ^(J)in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility ¹⁵ by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ^(K)ordinances, that he might create in himself one ^(L)new man in place of the two, so making peace, ¹⁶ and might ^(M)reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. ¹⁷ And he came and ^(N)preached peace to you who were ^(O)far off and peace to those who were ^(P)near. ¹⁸ For ^(Q)through him we both have ^(R)access in ^(S)one Spirit to the Father. ¹⁹ So then you are no longer ^(T)strangers and aliens,^[a] but you are ^(U)fellow citizens with the saints and ^(V)members of the household of God, ^20 (W)built on the foundation of the ^(X)apostles and prophets, ^(Y)Christ Jesus himself being ^(Z)the cornerstone, ^21 (AA)in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into ^(AB)a holy temple in the Lord. ²² In him ^(AC)you also are being built together ^(AD)into a dwelling place for God by^[b] the Spirit.

The Mystery of the Gospel Revealed

3 For this reason I, Paul, ^(AE)a prisoner of Christ Jesus ^(AF)on behalf of you Gentiles— ² assuming that you have heard of ^(AG)the stewardship of ^(AH)God's grace that was given to me for you, ^3 (AI)how the mystery was made known to me ^(AJ)by revelation, ^(AK)as I have written briefly. ^4 (AL)When you read this, you can perceive my insight into ^(AM)the mystery of Christ, ⁵ which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. ⁶ This mystery is^[c] that the Gentiles are ^(AN)fellow heirs, ^(AO)members of the same body, and ^(AP)partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

^7 (AQ)Of this gospel I was made ^(AR)a minister according to the gift of ^(AS)God's grace, which was given me ^(AT)by the working of his power. ⁸ To me, ^(AU)though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, ^(AV)to preach to the Gentiles the ^(AW)unsearchable ^(AX)riches of Christ, ⁹ and ^(AY)to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery ^(AZ)hidden for ages in^[d] God, ^(BA)who created all things, ¹⁰ so that through the church the manifold ^(BB)wisdom of God ^(BC)might now be made known to ^(BD)the rulers and authorities ^(BE)in the heavenly places. ¹¹ This was ^(BF)according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, ¹² in whom we have ^(BG)boldness and ^(BH)access with ^(BI)confidence through our ^(BJ)faith in him. ¹³ So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering ^(BK)for you, ^(BL)which is your glory.
