²² And God placed all things under his feet^(A) and appointed him to be head^(B) over everything for the church,

¹⁸ And he is the head^(A) of the body, the church;^(B) he is the beginning and the firstborn^(C) from among the dead,^(D) so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

¹⁰ and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head^(A) over every power and authority.^(B)

²⁵ For he must reign^(A) until he has put all his enemies under his feet.^{(B) 26} The last enemy to be destroyed is death.^{(C) 27} For he “has put everything under his feet.”^[a](D) Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.^(E)

In putting everything under them,^[c] God left nothing that is not subject to them.^[d] Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them.^[e]

¹⁹ They have lost connection with the head,^(A) from whom the whole body,^(B) supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.^(C)

³ But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ,^(A) and the head of the woman is man,^[a](B) and the head of Christ is God.^(C)

²³ For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church,^(A) his body, of which he is the Savior.
