²² And he has put all things under his feet and has made him the head over all things for the church,^(A)

¹⁸ He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything.^(A)

¹⁰ and you have come to fullness in him, who is the head of every ruler and authority.^(A)

²⁵ For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.^{(A) 26} The last enemy to be destroyed is death.^{(B) 27} For “God^[a] has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “All things are put in subjection,” it is plain that this does not include the one who put all things in subjection under him.^(C)

¹⁹ and not holding fast to the head, from whom the whole body, nourished and held together by its ligaments and tendons, grows with a growth that is from God.^(A)

Now in subjecting all things to them, God^[a] left nothing outside their control. As it is, we do not yet see everything in subjection to them,^(A)

²³ for the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.^(A)

³ But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man^[a] is the head of the woman,^[b] and God is the head of Christ.^(A)

¹⁵ but speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,^{(A) 16} from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body’s growth in building itself up in love.
