Paul’s Prayer

¹⁵ I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love^[a] toward all the saints, and for this reason

⁵ because I hear of your love for all the saints and your faith toward the Lord Jesus.^(A)

Paul Thanks God for the Colossians

³ In our prayers for you we always thank God, the^[a] Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,^{(A) 4} for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints,^(B)

¹⁰ For God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the^[a] love that you showed for his sake^[b] in serving the saints, as you still do.^(A)

Thanksgiving

³ We must always give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.^(A)

²¹ The commandment we have from him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also.

¹⁷ How does God’s love abide in anyone who has the world’s goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?^(A)

²² Now that you have purified your souls^[a] by your obedience to the truth^[b] so that you have genuine mutual affection, love one another deeply from the heart.^[c](A)

¹⁴ and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me^[a] with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.^(A)

⁵ But the aim of such instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith.^(A)
