^7 (A)Then the dust will return to the earth as it was,
^(B)And the spirit will return to God ^(C)who gave it.

² And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
^(A)Some to everlasting life,
Some to shame ^(B)and everlasting ^[a]contempt.

^4 (A)His spirit departs, he returns to his earth;
In that very day ^(B)his plans perish.

^19 (A)In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread
Till you return to the ground,
For out of it you were taken;
^(B)For dust you are,
And ^(C)to dust you shall return.”

¹⁴ If He should set His heart on it,
If He should ^(A)gather to Himself His Spirit and His breath,
^15 (B)All flesh would perish together,
And man would return to dust.

^16 (A)For I will not contend forever,
Nor will I always be angry;
For the spirit would fail before Me,
And the souls ^(B)which I have made.
