Ecclesiastes 2:14-16
English Standard Version Anglicised
14 (A)The wise person has his eyes in his head, but the fool walks in darkness. And yet I perceived that the (B)same event happens to all of them. 15 Then I said in my heart, (C)“What happens to the fool will happen to me also. Why then have I been so very wise?” And I said in my heart that this also is vanity. 16 For of the wise as of the fool there is (D)no enduring remembrance, seeing that in the days to come all will have been long forgotten. (E)How the wise dies just like the fool!

Ecclesiastes 2:14-16
King James Version
14 The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all.
15 Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity.
16 For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.

Ecclesiastes 2:14-16
New King James Version
14 (A)The wise man’s eyes are in his head,
But the fool walks in darkness.
Yet I myself perceived
That (B)the same event happens to them all.
15 So I said in my heart,
“As it happens to the fool,
It also happens to me,
And why was I then more wise?”
Then I said in my heart,
“This also is vanity.”
16 For there is (C)no more remembrance of the wise than of the fool forever,
Since all that now is will be forgotten in the days to come.
And how does a wise man die?
As the fool!
