⁵ For the living know that they shall die, but the dead know nothing at all. Nor do they have a reward anymore. For their remembrance is forgotten.

⁶ Also, their love and their hatred and their envy have now perished. And they have no more part in all that is done under the Sun, forever.

¹⁰ All that your hand shall find to do, do it with all your power. For there is neither work nor invention nor knowledge nor wisdom in the grave where you go.

¹⁷ The dead do not praise the LORD, nor any who go down into the silence.

⁴ His breath departs. He returns to his earth. Then, his thoughts perish.

¹⁶ For if the dead are not raised, then Christ is not raised.

¹⁷ And if Christ is not raised, your faith is vain. You are still in your sins.

¹⁸ And so those who are asleep in Christ, have perished.

² And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth, shall awake; some to everlasting life, and some to shame and perpetual contempt.
