^24 (A)There is nothing better for a person than that he should ^(B)eat and drink and find enjoyment^[a] in his toil. This also, I saw, is ^(C)from the hand of God,

²² So I saw that there is ^(A)nothing better than that a man should rejoice in his work, for ^(B)that is his lot. Who can bring him to see ^(C)what will be after him?

¹⁵ And I commend joy, for man ^(A)has nothing better under the sun but to ^(B)eat and drink and be joyful, for this will go with him in his toil through the days of his life that God has given him under the sun.

¹⁸ Behold, what I have seen to be ^(A)good and fitting is to eat and drink and find enjoyment^[a] in all the toil with which one toils under the sun the few days of his life that God has given him, for this is his ^(B)lot. ¹⁹ Everyone also to whom ^(C)God has given ^(D)wealth and possessions ^(E)and power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toil—this is ^(F)the gift of God.

¹² I perceived that there is ^(A)nothing better for them than to be joyful and to ^(B)do good as long as they live; ¹³ also ^(C)that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is ^(D)God's gift to man.

¹⁷ As for the rich in ^(A)this present age, charge them ^(B)not to be haughty, nor ^(C)to set their hopes on ^(D)the uncertainty of riches, but on God, ^(E)who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.

Enjoy Life with the One You Love

⁷ Go, ^(A)eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do.

^8 (B)Let your garments be always white. Let not ^(C)oil be lacking on your head.

⁹ Enjoy life with the wife whom you love, all the days of your ^(D)vain^[a] life that he has given you under the sun, because that is your ^(E)portion in life and in your toil at which you toil under the sun.

³² What do I gain if, humanly speaking, ^(A)I fought with beasts at Ephesus? If the dead are not raised, ^(B)“Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”

¹⁸ but ^(A)you shall eat them before the Lord your God in ^(B)the place that the Lord your God will choose, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, and the Levite who is within your towns. And ^(C)you shall rejoice before the Lord your God in all that you undertake.
